Tourists from all over the world come to the Jackman
region to see a moose - a truly magnificent creature. However, moose grow
to be quite large and are dark colored. So not only are the moose so big
that you definitely do not want to hit one, they are difficult to see at
night, which increases the chance that you will hit one. The slogan in the region is "MOOSE
ALERT: Go slow or don't go!"
EXTRA NOTE OF CAUTION FOR DRIVERS OF CARS: Because moose are tall, the bumper of a
car will usually hit the moose below the knees, causing the moose to come
crashing down on the windshield of the car. This is usually very bad for
the driver and front seat passenger of the car.

The driver of this car was going too
fast in a moose area at night and struck a moose in the road. The moose
came crashing down on to the windshield of the car. Fortunately, the driver
and front seat passenger sustained only minor injuries. The results could have been tragically
different.
